OWLS

 Owls. Everyone is fond of owls.
Including me, which is why I decided to make some owl pincushions.

First I made the base

 Then I added wings, a belly, a beak, and eyes. I used scraps from my Rapunzel costume for the owl. The beak and feather markings were painted on with acrylics, as were the whites of the eyes. The pupils are buttons.

The strangest thing about these owls is the stuffing, which is not cotton batting, foam or scraps: it's actual fibres cut from an old nylon wig. It's surprisingly good stuffing.
